Move over, C-SPAN — Congress is quickly becoming the new big thing on network TV.[IMGCAP(1)]Samuel L. Jackson’s production company, UppiTV, has signed a deal with CBS to produce a new series centering on “the wife of a U.S. Congressman who inherits her husband’s seat when he dies unexpectedly in the middle of his term,— according to the Hollywood Reporter. If it is picked up by the network, the show will be the latest in a string of politically themed shows, including “The Good Wife,— a CBS drama that follows the spouse of a jailed, sex scandal-plagued politician as she rebuilds her life as a defense attorney.
