All Seven Challengers To Virginia Rep. Nye Have Military Records

We won’t know until next spring which of seven Republicans challenging Rep. Glenn Nye (D-Va.) in the 2nd district will win the party nomination.

But we do know this: that Republican will be a military veteran.

Bert Mizusawa, a brigadier general in the Army Reserve, recently filed candidacy paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to formally join a campaign that already includes automotive executive Scott Rigell, who served in the Marine Corps Reserve, and Ben Loyola, a 30-year Navy veteran who owns an engineering firm.
