Small Plates: Just Like Mom’s

Too busy working to get to the bakery? Don’t worry, Restaurant Associates has got your back. The food service vendor of the House of Representatives is offering freshly baked holiday desserts now through Tuesday. A variety of pies — including apple, pumpkin and pecan — will be available for $9.99 to $11.99.

Order forms are available in the Ford, Rayburn and Longworth House office buildings. Customers can pay for the desserts with cash, credit or Quick Pay, and pies can be picked up Monday through Thursday.

Bargain Bourbon

Bourbon Steak (2800 Pennsylvania Ave. NW) is celebrating its one-year anniversary with a special discounted menu. This Michael Mina restaurant located in the posh Four Seasons hotel will be offering select bar food and drink items for $10.

Diners can nibble on sweetbreads with bacon-braised rye berries, lobster corn dogs and halibut fish and chips. The bar will also be offering three versions of the Sazerac cocktail priced at $10 each. Guests can choose from the Original Sazerac, a combination of cognac and Peychaud’s bitters; the Winter Sazerac, which includes Russell’s Reserve Rye, coffee syrup and bitters; and the Colonial Sazerac, made with Gosling’s Black Seal Rum, Wild Turkey Rye and Peychaud’s and Angostura bitters.

The menu will be available in the bar through Saturday.
