Illinois: Dold’s On the Air, Cadigan’s Out

The second Republican in the race for Rep. Mark Kirk‘s (R-Ill.) competitive open seat is up on the air. Businessman Robert Dold has issued his first 30-second spot, “Economy,” scheduled to air during primetime and on top-rated cable stations, according to the campaign.

Dold is the second GOP candidate in the Feb. 2 primary to hit the airwaves following Businessman Dick Green‘s spot earlier this month. Dold and Green reported having the biggest campaign bank accounts, $250,000 and $265,000, respectively, in the GOP primary at the end of September.

Dold and his rivals are now in a smaller field; former congressional aide Bill Cadigan dropped out of the GOP primary.
