When Is A TV Ad Not Really A TV Ad?

A TV ad isn’t a TV ad when it’s not actually on TV.

Former Chicago Urban League President Cheryle Robinson Jackson’s (D) Senate campaign issued a press release yesterday proclaiming she had “unveiled a new TV ad today.”

Well here’s what we were missing when we reported on that: The campaign made an ad, but didn’t make a television buy. There’s no commercial on the air.

“It will go up. We don’t have the time line for it, but it will go up,” said Jackson spokesman Bob Kettlewell, who apologized for any confusion.
