Giannoulias Up With Two More TV Ads

Illinois sate Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias (D) is up with two more television spots to boost his Senate campaign with less than a month to go before the Feb. 2 primary.

Giannoulias’ duo of 30-second spots, called “Values— and “Heroes,— are intended to display the Democrat’s accomplishments in office over the past four years. A Giannoulias campaign aide would not divulge the size of the ad buy, but he confirmed that the spots were airing in three markets: Chicago, southern Illinois and the Champaign and Decatur areas.

Giannoulias is considered to be the frontrunner in the Democratic primary for the open seat, and these are his third and fourth advertisements of the campaign. Two other Democrats in the race, former Chicago Inspector General David Hoffman and attorney Jacob Meister, have also aired TV spots, but former Chicago Urban League President Cheryle Robinson Jackson has not hit the airwaves yet.
