Paul Ryan to Fundraise for N.H. GOP

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) will make a trip to the first-in-the-nation presidential primary state next month to fundraise for local Republicans.Ryan will headline a Feb. 26 fundraiser for the New Hampshire Republican state committee as well as host another fundraising event for Manchester Republicans and the Young Republicans. The ranking member on the House Budget Committee is considered to be a rising star in his party, but he has consistently brushed off any interest in running for national office. According to New Hampshire Republican Party spokesman Ryan Williams, local party members requested that the six-term House Republican visit the Granite State. The state will host a competitive open-seat Senate race and two competitive House races this November. “New Hampshire Republicans recognize that Congressman Ryan is one of the strongest advocates for fiscally conservative principles in the Congress,— Williams said. “We’re grateful that he’s willing to support our efforts to restore fiscal sanity to New Hampshire with sweeping Republican victories in 2010.—
