Brown to Sit Down With McCain, Kerry, McConnell on Thursday

Fresh off a winning campaign in the Bay State, Sen.-elect Scott Brown (R-Mass.) will be barnstorming the Capitol on Thursday in a series of meet-and-greets with his new Senate colleagues.

Brown, elected Tuesday in a major upset to the seat previously held by the late Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.), will meet with Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) at 10 a.m., followed by a meeting with new home-state colleague Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.). Brown will then huddle with Sen. Paul Kirk (D-Mass.), who was appointed to hold Kennedy’s seat temporarily until the special election, before heading into a closed-door session with Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

A date for Brown’s swearing-in has not yet been set.
