Minnesota: Bachmann Getting Help From Palin

Two of Republicans’ highest-profile women will share a stage this spring.

Rep. Michele Bachmann announced Wednesday that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will come to Minnesota on April 7 to pitch in for Bachmann’s re-election campaign.

“There is absolutely no one more in tune with the hearts and minds of everyday Americans than Governor Palin, and I’m excited to welcome her back to our beautiful state this spring,— Bachmann said in a release.

Palin and Bachmann are two of the most loved — and loathed — women in politics, generating strong sentiments on both sides of the aisle. Their joint appearance will no doubt create a big buzz for Bachmann’s re-election efforts, which Democrats are gunning to block in 2010.

Two Democrats, state Sen. Tarryl Clark and physician Maureen Reed, are vying for their party’s nomination.

Palin also announced Wednesday that she will campaign for her former ticket-mate, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).
