Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has invited family members, union leaders and members of the Kennedy family to be her special guests at Wednesday’s State of the Union address.

Pelosi’s son Paul and her brother, former Baltimore Mayor Thomas D’Alesandro, will sit in the front row of the Speaker’s box during President Barack Obama’s speech in the House chamber. Others in the front row will include Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley; D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty; Ted Kennedy Jr.; Ben Jealous, president and CEO of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People; Janet Murguía, president and CEO of the National Council of La Raza; and Ophelia Dahl, executive director of Partners in Health.

Other guests in the Speaker’s box will include Ambassador Elizabeth Bagley; Anna Burger, secretary-treasurer of the Service Employees International Union; Richard Trumka, president of the AFL-CIO; and Jim Guest, president and CEO of Consumers Union.

Former Speaker Tom Foley (D-Wash.) will also be in the chamber as one of Pelosi’s guests.
