Hoyer Axes Tuesday Night Votes

The House will not hold votes Tuesday night because of a second major snowstorm expected to hit the region Tuesday afternoon, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer’s (D-Md.) office announced in an e-mail to House staff Monday.

The floor schedule for the rest of the week will be announced Tuesday afternoon, Hoyer’s office said.

The House is expected this week to begin consideration of the Intelligence Authorization Act for fiscal 2010 and the Health Insurance Industry Antitrust Enforcement Act, which would repeal the antitrust exemptions for health and medical malpractice insurance companies.

The Senate is still planning to to reconvene for votes on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
