DCCC Raises $4.7 Million in January

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee raised $4.7 million in January, barely more than its GOP counterpart.

House Democrats, however, also ended January with $18.3 million on hand — more than four times the bank account of the National Republican Congressional Committee.

The NRCC announced earlier this month that it brought in $4.5 million in January, including $500,000 in Member transfers from its Conference. The NRCC will report $4.1 million in cash on hand as of Jan. 31.

The DCCC will also report spending a little more than $3 million in the first month of 2010. The committee ended January with $1.3 million in debt.
