Kansas: Moore Floats Wife’s Name as Successor

House Democrats have been on the hunt for someone to run for the seat of retiring Rep. Dennis Moore (D).

Perhaps they didn’t need to look farther than Moore’s own home.

According to a report in the Kansas City Star, Moore has floated his wife, Stephene, as a possible contender for the seat. Moore told a luncheon crowd this weekend that his wife was a potential candidate and Democrats should “stay tuned.”

Meanwhile, former Johnson County Commission candidate Charlotte O’Hara (R) has dropped out of the race. Several local prominent Republicans, including state Rep. Kevin Yoder and former state Sen. Nick Jordan, are running in the Aug. 3 primary.
