Sen. Scott Brown (Mass.), one of the GOP’s hottest commodities, will be bringing his newfound stardom to Phoenix and Tucson later this week when he hits the campaign trail with Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).

The McCain campaign released details Tuesday of Brown’s two appearances in the state — a rally at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix at noon Mountain time on Friday and a meet-and-greet at the historic Manning House in Tucson on Saturday at 4 p.m. Mountain time.

McCain and Brown will also catch the University of Arizona versus University of Southern California basketball game Saturday.

McCain is bringing in Brown, a GOP superstar since his upset special election victory in January, as he looks to beat back a primary challenge from former Rep. J.D. Hayworth.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R), McCain’s vice presidential pick in 2008, is also swooping in later this month to campaign with McCain and help shore up his standing among his conservative base.
