New Jersey: Runyan Schedules Campaign Kickoff

Former NFL player Jon Runyan is ready to start the clock on his post-football career in politics.

Runyan will hold a kick-off event for his House campaign on March 18 .

The longtime offensive lineman for the Philadelphia Eagles has succeeded in uniting the 3rd district’s Republican factions behind him and is expected to avoid a contested primary.

GOP divisions helped Rep. John Adler (D) win the open seat in 2008.

Republicans hope that with a united front, they will be able to unseat the freshman in the traditionally Republican district.
