Obama to Sign Abortion Executive Order

President Barack Obama will sign an executive order Wednesday afternoon reaffirming that health care reform will not allow the use of federal funds for abortions.

The move is part of a deal cut with anti-abortion House Democrats whose votes were crucial for passing the health care overhaul.

Obama will sign the executive order at the White House at 2:30 p.m. with several anti-abortion Democrats by his side. Invited Members include Democratic Reps. Bart Stupak (Mich.), Kathy Dahlkemper (Pa.), Marcy Kaptur (Ohio), Nick Rahall (W.Va.), Jerry Costello (Ill.), Christopher Carney (Pa.), Steve Driehaus (Ohio), Charlie Wilson (Ohio), James Oberstar (Minn.), Alan Mollohan (W.Va.), Brad Ellsworth (Ind.), Henry Cuellar (Texas) and Mike Doyle (Pa.). Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pa.) was also invited.
