HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Have a Finger in the Pie

Capitol Hill denizens aren’t typically classified as being “humble as apple pie,” but HOH is guessing plenty will still enjoy a slice of the tasty treat this afternoon in the foyer of the Rayburn House Office Building.

NATSO, the trade association that represents travel plazas and truck-stop owners and operators, is hosting its annual buffet reception today, promising to dish out slices of homemade pies “from America’s finest travel plazas and truckstops” to guests.

Delicious classics such as apple, blueberry, lemon meringue and pecan will be served up, along with banana creme, cherry, chocolate creme, coconut creme, French silk, key lime, peach, peanut butter and strawberry.

Yum!

The invite-only reception, slated to start at 5 p.m. in the Rayburn foyer, will also feature cocktails and other appetizers. But be warned, potential party crashers: The invite warns that people “under 21 will not be admitted.”
