Newest Specter TV Ad Features Obama

Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter has launched a new TV ad featuring footage of President Barack Obama praising him, the latest salvo in his effort to beat back a primary challenge in his first race appearing on the ballot as a Democrat.

The ad comes as little surprise, just like the TV spot launched last week by Democratic Rep. Joe Sestak that tied Specter to former President George W. Bush — who campaigned to help the Senator win a tough GOP primary in 2004.

Sestak continues to maintain a narrow lead over Specter, according to the Muhlenberg College daily tracking poll.

The footage Specter uses in the ad is from an event Obama did earlier this year, much like the radio ad the Specter campaign did a couple weeks ago that featured Obama and was targeted to Philadelphia radio stations.
