NRSC Bumps Up Political Director to IE Campaign

The National Republican Senatorial Committee has tapped Political Director Randy Bumps to help run the organization’s multimillion dollar independent expenditure campaign.

Bumps, a former Republican National Committee aide who has a long background in Maine Republican politics, will serve as a chief political strategist assisting Mike DuHaime, a veteran GOP strategist who is heading the independent expenditure effort.

Succeeding Bumps as NRSC political director will be Chris LaCivita, another veteran political consultant.

National party committees are permitted to spend unlimited sums on independent expenditures, as long as the spending is not coordinated with their preferred candidates. Most IEs are spent on television commercials.
