EMILY’s List Endorses Brooks in Race Against Tiberi

Democrat Paula Brooks, who hopes to unseat Rep. Patrick Tiberi (R-Ohio) in November, received the endorsement of EMILY’s List on Wednesday.

Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILY’s List’s, praised Brooks’ record as the president of the Franklin County Commission and called her “a common sense, hardworking leader.”

“Paula knows how tough times are for the people of Ohio and that’s why she will work to create opportunities for economic growth and sustainable green jobs,” Schriock said in a statement. “EMILY’s List is proud to endorse Paula Brooks for U.S. Congress.”

Brooks was added to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s “Red to Blue” program in March.

“I am thrilled to receive the endorsement of EMILY’s List and all of its members across the country,” Brooks said in a statement. “I know that with their support we can move this seat to the Democratic column in November.”

EMILY’s List backs women who support abortion rights for public office. In the 2008 election cycle, the group raised more than $43 million for its candidates.
