Klobuchar’s Mother Dies at 83

Rose Klobuchar, 83, the mother of Sen. Amy Klobuchar, died Monday after complications from heart surgery, according to the Associated Press.

Rose Klobuchar taught kindergarten and second grade in the Minneapolis and Wayzata school districts until retiring at age 70.

Democratic Senate aides said Tuesday morning that it was unclear when Sen. Klobuchar would return to Minnesota and how many Senate votes she might miss.
