HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Bring Your Appetite

Attention, overworked and underpaid Capitol Hill staffers: We hope you’re hungry! It’s finally Restaurant Week, that special seven-day stretch when D.C. eateries serve up budget-friendly menus.

A three-course lunch at fancy places such as the Oval Room and Adour costs $20.10, while dinner is $35.10. But while dining on a white tablecloth is fun, the real deal this week is over on the H Street corridor.

H Street Eats runs through Sunday, with participating bars and restaurants offering meals for $20.10. In some cases, the price even includes dinner for two.

At the Argonaut, $20.10 will buy any two sandwiches and two draft beers, while Taylor Gourmet will offer two six-inch hoagies, two fountain drinks and two bags of chips for $20.10. At Belgian haven Granville Moore’s, the price includes an appetizer choice of the wedge salad or risotto cakes, any bowl of mussels and cheesecake for dessert.
