Palin Goes After Frank as ‘Ethically-Challenged Liberal Icon’

Among the trio of Republican House candidates former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) endorsed on Thursday was businessman Sean Bielat, who is challenging Rep. Barney Frank (D) in Massachusetts’ 4th district.

Due to his hefty campaign war chest and the Democratic leanings of his suburban district, Frank hasn’t had a serious Republican challenge in decades. But given the political environment that has tilted heavily in favor of Republicans, Bielat is mounting a competitive underdog campaign against the 15-term Congressman.

In her endorsement of Bielat via her Facebook page, Palin called Frank an “ethically-challenged liberal icon who opposed reform of Fannie & Freddie before the meltdown.” He’s the chairman of the Financial Services Committee and became a larger target for tea partyers this cycle after dressing down an angry town hall attendee as being from another planet last summer.

Palin also endorsed farmer Stephen Fincher, who is running in Tennessee’s open 8th district, and state Sen. Randy Hultgren, who is challenging Rep. Bill Foster in Illinois’ 14th district.
