Heard on the Hill: Hats Off to Bipartisanship

Can a shared love of hats bridge the partisan divide?

HOH hears that Rep.-elect Frederica Wilson — a well-known style maven and hat enthusiast — has been bonding with other incoming freshmen during this week’s orientation. In fact, the Florida Democrat made one friend in particular thanks to her affinity for hats.

“I met an auctioneer this morning,” Wilson told a Roll Call reporter after orientation on Monday. “He wears cowboy hats. He put me in touch with a cowboy hat store.”

HOH wonders if the auctioneer is Rep.-elect Billy Long. After all, the Missouri Republican is known for sporting a giant white cowboy hat.

Here’s hoping these two can use this common ground to become bipartisan besties.
