Sometimes, Senators are just like us. Well, sort of.

Most people have been locked out of a car or house. But a Senator can also get locked out of his Capitol hideaway.

Take Sen. Max Baucus. An HOH spy eyed the Montana Democrat fumbling with a key chain while attempting to get into his hideaway on the second floor of the Capitol on Tuesday. Baucus tried a few keys that didn’t work, and after a few minutes, gave up and walked away.

Baucus’s office tells HOH the Senator didn’t forget his key. The lock was broken, and maintenance workers quickly fixed it.

“Everyone says Washington is broken — maybe this is proof,” spokeswoman Kate Downen says. “He’s not a locksmith, but he’s definitely trying to lock in permanent tax cuts for the middle class.”
