The Monocle this week is celebrating 50 years of stuffing Members and staffers with steak and booze.

The Capitol Hill restaurant is fêting the occasion with a party Wednesday night co-hosted by the U.S. Capitol Historical Society. More than a dozen Members of Congress are slated to attend, including Speaker-designate John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Reps. Mary Bono Mack (R-Calif.) and Connie Mack IV (R-Fla.). Sens. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), Benjamin Cardin (D-Md.) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) are also scheduled to attend, as is Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood.

The soiree is being billed as a “historical trip down Memory Lane” with humorist Mark Russell sharing stories of life on Capitol Hill. Proceeds from the party will benefit the historical society’s educational programming.

The Monocle will also host an after hours “Mad Men”-style party today beginning at 8:30 p.m. HOH thinks Old Fashioneds may be in order.
