Heard on the Hill: Still Kicking

Retired Sen. John Warner visited Capitol Hill last week, and an HOH spy overheard him crack a joke about his octogenarian status.

The spy eyed the Virginia Republican on Thursday afternoon in the Dirksen Senate Office Building. The 83-year-old Warner walked with a Marine Corps brigadier general, and the pair attracted plenty of well-wishers.

Warner greeted them with hugs and shared stories as he walked through the Senate halls, our spy adds. When one person asked how he was doing, Warner replied: “Well, I’m on this side of the grass, so I must be doing well.”
