 Two recent ex-Senators, Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.) and Bob Bennett (R-Utah), are setting up shop at the law and lobbying firm Arent Fox.

The bipartisan duo will be senior policy advisers in the shop’s government relations practice, and Dorgan will be co-chairman of the group along with former Rep. Phil English (R-Pa.), Arent Fox announced Tuesday in a press release.

Dorgan retired from the Senate at the end of the 111th Congress, while Bennett lost his bid for re-election at the GOP nominating convention.

Dorgan served as chairman of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee. Bennett served on Senate panels such as Banking, Appropriations, Rules and Administration, and Energy and Natural Resources.

Dorgan is no stranger to K Street: His wife, Kim, is a registered lobbyist.

“Bob Bennett and I have worked closely on many issues while in the US Senate, and I am excited to work with him in this new role of a Senior Policy Advisor at one of Washington’s premier law firms,” Dorgan said in a statement released by the firm.

Bennett added, “I am delighted to join forces with my good friend Byron Dorgan as Washington is making critical decisions that will have lasting effects on every business and every industry. I’m confident our bi-partisan approach, coupled with Phil English and the outstanding professionals at Arent Fox, will serve our clients well in this new endeavor.”

The two former Senators are planning side gigs as well. In addition to joining Arent Fox, Bennett has also formed the Bennett Consulting Group with offices in Washington, D.C., Salt Lake City and Shanghai. Dorgan will chair a new program at the Aspen Institute. He will also  work with the Bipartisan Policy Center on energy issues and serve as a visiting professor at Georgetown University.
