Pawlenty First Hopeful to Respond to Obama Campaign Plans (VIDEO)

Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty released a response video Monday morning  — just hours after President Barack Obama formally launched his re-election campaign with a video distributed to supporters.

Two weeks after announcing the formation of a presidential exploratory committee in a video posted on Facebook, Pawlenty’s response to Obama came in the form of another slickly produced video.

Pawlenty’s short statement in the 36-second spot played off the White House’s running message of aiming to “win the future” — a phrase not mentioned in Obama’s announcement video.

“I’ve got a question for you. How can America win the future when we’re losing the present?” Pawlenty asks as dramatic background music plays. “In order for America to take a new direction, it’s going to take a new president.”
