HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Elaine for Veep?

For “West Wing” junkies who have been looking to feed their political TV addiction, your prayers have been answered.

HBO is picking up the political satire “Veep,” starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Louis-Dreyfus, best known for her role as Elaine on “Seinfeld,” will play a former Senator who’s elected to the vice presidency.

The show’s creator, Armando Iannucci, told other news outlets that the character isn’t based on any former VPs or VP candidates. Well, not Joseph Biden, at least.

The show is expected to debut in fall 2012, at the height of the election cycle.

Maybe Dreyfuss should look for tips from fellow “Saturday Night Live” alum Tina Fey, whose spoofs on vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin (R) were a hit in 2008.
