DCCC Targets 20 Districts With Phone Calls

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is running automated phone calls in 20 GOP districts going after Republicans for their votes affecting the future of Medicare.

The calls are part of a new program called Medicare Action Center, which is designed to help Democrats pick up the 25 seats necessary to win the majority. Targets include Reps. Paul Gosar (Ariz.), Joe Heck (Nev.) and Lou Barletta (Pa.).

“Everyone agrees we must cut spending and tighten our belt, but Barletta has made the wrong choice,” the automated call in his district says. “Ending Medicare to pay for subsidies for Big Oil making huge profits or tax breaks for the ultra rich! That’s not right.”

The other Republicans on the list include: Scott Tipton (Colo.), Steve Southerland (Fla.), Bill Young (Fla.), Allen West (Fla.), Tom Latham (Iowa), Bobby Schilling (Ill.), Tim Walberg (Mich.), Renee Ellmers (N.C.), Nan Hayworth (N.Y.), Ann Marie Buerkle (N.Y.), Steve Chabot (Ohio), Mike Kelly (Pa.), Charlie Dent (Pa.), Francisco “Quico” Canseco (Texas), Blake Farenthold (Texas) and Sean Duffy (Wis.).

Each sits in a district the Democrats view as vulnerable.
