NRCC, DCCC Each Raise $4 Million in April

Updated: 7:59 p.m.

The National Republican Congressional Committee reported raising $4 million in April, leaving it with $9.6 million in the bank and $7.5 million in debt.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced it raised $4 million in April as well. It has less cash on hand — $5.5 million — but for the first time this cycle has less debt, $7.3 million, than the NRCC.

The NRCC noted in a release that it has raised twice as much as it did at the same point last cycle, and its cash on hand is twice as much as it was at this point in 2009.

The NRCC’s strong showing was thanks, in part, to Member transfers and nearly $150,000 from the Boehner for Speaker joint fundraising committee, an effort between Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and the NRCC. That committee has contributed almost $1 million total to the NRCC this year, according to Federal Election Commission filings.
