Anti-Trade-Deal PAC Buys Radio Ads Vs. Camp
A new super political action committee bent on derailing the three free-trade agreements pending in Congress is urging House Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp (R-Mich.) to vote against the deals in a radio ad.
The American Jobs Alliance — which touted itself in an email as a bipartisan organization including both “Tea Party patriots” and “progressive netroots activists” — began running the 60-second spot in Camp’s 4th district Wednesday, describing the deal with South Korea as “another NAFTA.”
Camp’s panel, which must vote on the deals before they can be considered by the full House, planned to hold a mock markup today of the long-stalled agreements with South Korea, Colombia and Panama.
“More imports will flood our country and more of our jobs will be washed away,” a narrator says in the ad. “Tell Camp if he wants to keep his job to vote no on the Korea free-trade agreement.”
