Newly minted presidential candidate Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.) is sort of famous as “that rock ’n’ roll dude” in the House of Representatives, and he’s milking it for all it’s worth.

McCotter’s campaign sent an email Monday with the tantalizing subject line “McCotter Rocks New Hampshire,” but when HOH watched the video the email linked to, there was no rocking or rolling to be seen.

This was no “Rock Solid With Thad McCotter” webisode. It was just a simple “in case you missed it” email to highlight one of his Fox News appearances. The star-spangled guitar that he plays in his bipartisan band, the Second Amendments, was nowhere to be found.

Instead, McCotter was talking about a tweet in which he implied President Barack Obama and GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney share similar views on the economy. 

“We have Obama as the champion of big government; we see Romney as champion of bailout banks in the Wall Street bailout,” he explained to Fox News. “They are less rivals than they are running mates.”

A total burn for sure, but not a total rock (out).
