GOP Poll Confirms Close Nevada Senate Race
An internal poll from Nevada Sen. Dean Heller’s (R) campaign provides further evidence of the tight 2012 race developing.
The poll, conducted by the Tarrance Group on behalf of Heller and the National Republican Senatorial Committee, found the Senator at 48 percent compared to 44 percent for Rep. Shelley Berkley (D), according to a memo released to the press.
The poll of 501 likely voters was conducted July 12-13 and had a 4.5-point margin of error.
This was the second Republican poll in the last few weeks to find the race within the margin of error.
The Tarrance Group memo stated that Heller “has moved to a two to one job approval ratio among voters throughout the state, including maintaining a better than two to one job approval ratio among Independent voters.” It also states that Las Vegas’ Clark County is the only region of the state where Heller does not hold a double-digit lead over Berkley.
