The National Republican Congressional Committee raised slightly more than Democrats’ campaign arm in June.

The National Republican Congressional Committee hauled in $6.7 million in June, while the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee raised $6.2 million.

The DCCC reported $7.4 million in cash on hand and $4.7 million in debt at the end of last month. The NRCC had $11 million in the bank and ended the month $3.5 million in debt.

The month of June was marked by the ongoing debate over raising the debt limit on Capitol Hill, something both parties used to boost fundraising. Democrats also dealt with the scandal involving former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.), who grabbed headlines for sending improper electronic communications to women across the country.

Overall for the cycle the DCCC has brought in more than the NRCC, $33.7 million compared to $33.5 million.
