HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Intern Appreciation

While everyone else is preoccupied with the debt ceiling negotiations and the heat, just one man makes sure that all the copies are copied, all the phones are answered and the calls are appropriately dodged by staffers.

Who is this man of mystery? This man with the clever name? This man who wears a suit when no one else is wearing one? This man who is probably bored right now? He is Intern Man! And — along with Intern Woman! — he is in Washington for several months fighting back the paperwork and making sure no happy hour remains unexplored.

Last year, Senate Agriculture Committee intern Aaron Bell — who we assume looks exactly like Intern Man — wrote and illustrated a comic about the superhero intern.

“We’ve all enjoyed it and the laughs it provided so much that we’ve kept it on a bulletin board a year after he left,” a tipster tells HOH. “As so many individuals on the Hill once started as an intern, it is one to be enjoyed by everyone.”

So then they sent it to us, and we pass it on to you, former Washington Intern. Enjoy and stay cool, guys.
