Attorney Bill Hudak plans to challenge Rep. John Tierney (D-Mass.) again in 2012 and was stumping for votes at a recent tea party rally in Manchester, N.H., to boost support among conservatives.

Tierney handily won re-election in a GOP wave year, earning 57 percent to Hudak’s 43 percent for his 2010 re-election in the 6th district, a seacoast district that hugs the New Hampshire border.

Hudak told Roll Call he might face Richard Tisei, the losing lieutenant governor candidate, in a GOP primary. Tisei has not announced his intentions for the next election.

“I am a true conservative. Not a wishy-washy, middle of the road Republican in name only,” Hudak said in a brief interview from his stand at a Labor Day Tea Party Express rally, which also featured Sarah Palin.

Hudak believes he might benefit from the redistricting process. The district will gain 75,000 voters as the Bay State loses one Congressional seat due to reapportionment. Should the 6th pick up the town of Haverhill, it will become more Republican, he said. But the overall shape of the district is not expected to change much, he added.
