HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Where Are They Now: John Ensign
A blind item in the Las Vegas Review-Journal placing former Sen. John Ensign (R) back in his home state of Nevada — being serenaded by a predominantly female band during a restaurant grand opening, no less — left us wondering how the good doctor now fills his days.
Persona non grata around the Capitol since admitting to a career-ending dalliance, Ensign tucked his tail between his legs, blew town in May and is now trying to catch up on modern veterinary practices.
Dr. Christopher Yach, a former business partner cum owner/director of West Flamingo Animal Hospital, the first veterinary clinic that Ensign founded in Sin City, confirmed his “friend” and “associate” has, in fact, been wandering the halls as of late.
“He doesn’t work here,” Yach maintains. “But he absolutely comes in five days a week.”
According to Yach, Ensign is not yet seeing patients.
But the evidently out-of-practice pet whisperer is going on rounds, watching surgeries and picking his peers’ brains about what has changed since he decamped for the hallowed halls of Congress. Yach noted, however, that Ensign has only been back on the medical campus for about a month.
