David Axelrod Heading to Arizona for Fundraiser

David Axelrod, a top political adviser to President Barack Obama, is headed to Phoenix on Thursday to headline a fundraiser for the president’s re-election campaign.

State Rep. Ruben Gallego (D), Gen44 and local politicos are among the event hosts. Gen44 is a youth outreach arm of the Democratic National Committee.

The fundraiser’s venue will hold up to 50 people, and Gallego told Roll Call, “We expect to be full.” Hosts are considering another venue if more room is needed. Tickets vary in price, but the Gen44 level are going for $100.

Arizona went Republican in 2008, with Obama garnering 45 percent against home state Sen. John McCain.
