Former Sen. McGovern Injured in Fall

Former Sen. George McGovern (D-S.D.) has been hospitalized after falling and hitting his head while getting ready for a live interview on C-SPAN in Mitchell, S.D., the Associated Press reported.

The 1972 Democratic presidential nominee was getting set to take part in a live program called “The Contenders,” focusing on failed presidential candidates.

McGovern was transported to a hospital in Souix Falls. Witnesses told the AP he was bleeding profusely but he was conscious and talking.
