MoveOn.org Attacks Mitt Romney in Iowa (VIDEO)

MoveOn.org Political Action today launched a new 30-second TV ad in Iowa painting former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney as a corporate elitist.

The spot will run on CNN and MSNBC and has five figures behind the ad buy. A spokesman would not disclose the specific amount spent to run the ad, which will be on air one month before the Jan. 3 Iowa caucuses.

A narrator calls Romney “Mr. 1 percent” and slams him for outsourcing jobs during his career as business executive. It also hits Romney for calling himself “unemployed” in June “while making plans to quadruple the size of his $12 million beach house.”

And it reminded viewers of Romney’s August defending corporations as being “people.”

The spot comes after Romney decided to run an ad in Iowa even though he has focused his campaign efforts more on winning New Hampshire’s first-in-the-nation primary.
