An HOH favorite, Rep. Steven Palazzo (R-Miss.), will hold a pre-Valentine’s Day fundraiser with House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.), according to the “Majority in Mississippi” blog.

The reception will be held Feb. 4 in the Congressman’s home district. One source speculated that this could be an indication the National Republican Congressional Committee is concerned about the freshman’s re-election bid. Or maybe not.

It may be nothing more than serendipitous scheduling for Palazzo. It seems the No. 2 House Republican already had a trip planned to the Gulf Coast, and because he would be in the neighborhood, well, they may as well raise some money.

No word on whether Southern Mississippi’s famous pecans will be served at the event, whether donors can use PayPal for remittance or who might be watching the Palazzo young ’uns that evening.
