Alicia Menendez and Bettina Inclán, a political scion and seasoned campaign operative, respectively, aim to give voice to Latino issues on their nascent satellite radio show, “Power Play.”

Menendez, a self-described “Cuban Democrat,” is the eldest daughter of Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), while Inclán, the “Mexican Republican,” was named director of Hispanic outreach for the Republican National Committee last week.

The ideologically opposed pol watchers will duke it out every Tuesday and Thursday from 4 to 5 p.m. EST on Sirius XM, which is doubling down on its growing Latino listenership push by debuting two predominantly Spanish-language channels, Cristina Radio (channel 146) and En Vivo (channel 147) in conjunction with National Latino Broadcasting.

“We are kind of like your typical Hispanic: young, bicultural, bilingual and just getting interested in politics,” Inclán said of the duo’s demographic appeal.

The show launched Jan. 10 and has already snagged its first Congressional get: an interview with Rep. Francisco “Quico” Canseco (R-Texas), who shared his thoughts on being targeted by a Latino super PAC. Menendez said future shows will touch on everything from the mounting Republican presidential primaries to effective use of social media.

And how are the budding chatterboxes getting along?

“We were strangers, and now we are friends,” Menendez said of the personal rapport the two have fostered since agreeing to do the show.
