Jennifer Granholm Eyes Tight Races on New Talker

Former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm tonight hops on her nightly Current TV soapbox, “The War Room With Jennifer Granholm,” a political gabfest poised to keep tabs on at least a dozen hotly contested elections.

The new show will mimic a campaign war room, a format the Democrat suggested will include a laser-like focus on a dozen or so races, depending on how you count satirist Stephen Colbert’s super PAC-skewering shenanigans.

“We selected races that we think are gonna be close,” she posited, ticking off the re-election bid of Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) as well as the campaign by North Dakota Senate hopeful Heidi Heitkamp (D).

Granholm plans to take the show on the road to active campaign war rooms so she can huddle with next-generation operatives. She is touting up-and-coming strategists and technology wiz kids for her interview wish list.

Granholm’s first stop: swinging by the Chicago re-election headquarters of President Barack Obama. Congressionally connected premiere week guests include: Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (Fla.) and Massachusetts Senate challenger Elizabeth Warren.
