House Transportation and Infrastructure Chairman John Mica mistook a young woman’s warm, caffeinated beverage for his own.

“[Mica] made off with my chai at the Cups [coffee shop] in Russell, accidentally thinking it was his coffee,” the woman who ordered the beverage tells HOH.

Say what? That rogue! That thief! That mistake-maker!

Fortunately, however, the Florida Republican figured out his folly and returned the chai to its rightful owner.

“He brought it back to me,” she says.

Mica proceeded to assure her that “he didn’t lick it … or ‘lip’ it … or otherwise make out with my cup. :(”

Sad face, indeed.

None of this, however, quite explains just how Mica was able to figure out his folly without placing lip upon lip.
