NRSC Bests DSCC in December Fundraising

The National Republican Senatorial Committee outraised its Democratic counterpart in December, as both committees finished the year having raised about the same amount in 2011.

The NRSC brought in $4.5 million last month. It was the first national party committee to pay off its debt, and it ended the year with $11.4 million on hand. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee raised $3.5 million in December, finishing the year with no debt and $12.2 million on hand.

The DSCC raised a total of $42 million in 2011, while the NRSC raised $41.4 million for the year.
