Speaker John Boehner (Ohio) is not the only Republican laying down the sartorial law these days.

In January, the Speaker publicly chided Members for being inappropriately dressed for the House floor.

Then last week, Sean Spicer, communications director for the Republican National Committee, reminded his staff that professional attire isn’t just for Members. 

To give Spicer his due, though he cracked his school marm whip, he did it with good humor and style.

“To be clear (for those that are relatively new), we have a dress code which includes no jeans, etc — however, certain people will be traveling tomorrow so I will deem it [casual] Thursday,” Spicer declared to the organization via email. “While you can be [casual], yes jeans are casual, you are still Republicans so let’s not [go] over board and be mistaken for [Democratic National Committee] staffers while standing in line at Tasty Kabob.”

Republicans being mistaken for Democrats at a food truck? Gasp! The horror.

Mr. Spicer, just know that every time we walk by Tasty Kabob, we think of you.
