A who’s who of politically active ladies will raise their voices — and probably a few glasses of wine — Wednesday at the Oxfam International Women’s Day awards, a Congressional shindig aimed at persuading lawmakers to carefully consider developing countries during the forthcoming farm bill rewrite.

The “Sisters on the Planet Leadership Awards Reception” will honor actress and Oxfam global ambassador Kristin Davis and Maasai farmer/civil society leader Anna Kalaita for their efforts toward combating world hunger.

Democratic Reps. Lois Capps (Calif.), Sam Farr (Calif.) and Betty McCollum (Minn.) are slated to say a few words while invited guests network, snack and sip on “light refreshments” (none for Davis, of course; she’s famously on the wagon).

No word on whether the other registered “Sisters on the Planet Ambassadors” — a roster that includes Democratic Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.) and Jeanne Shaheen (N.H.), and Democratic Reps. Tammy Baldwin (Wis.), Susan Davis (Calif.), Anna Eshoo (Calif.), Barbara Lee (Calif.), Zoe Lofgren (Calif.), Doris Matsui (Calif.), Gwen Moore (Wis.), Chellie Pingree (Maine), Linda Sánchez (Calif.), Allyson Schwartz (Pa.) and Lynn Woolsey (Calif.) — will pop by the House Foreign Affairs Committee room to catch up with their agrarian-minded gal pals.
