Congress Stares Skyward

For those of you who are just coming out from under your rocks/not glued to Twitter, the space shuttle Discovery flew through the skies of Washington, D.C., this morning before continuing on to its new home at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center.

And many of our elected leaders raced out into the sunshine/to their office windows to chronicle the historic flyby.

While we enjoyed all of the impromptu snapshots, here are our favorites from Congressional sources:

1. Best Close-Up — @RepPeteKing

Good composition, excellent detail.

2. Most Patriotic Image — @RepBillFlores

You’ve got panoramic blue skies, the shuttle in the distance and Old Glory fluttering front and center. (We smell commemorative postage stamp.)

3. Way to Make It All About You — @SenJeffMerkley

Thanks for pointing out the obvious, Sen. Merkley.
